A 2nd gen lid wont fit a 3rd gen.
Really? I thought they were interchangeable from 95-05?
That's because those are still third gen, second gen is 88'-94'

They are. As stated above 88-94 are 2nd gens and 95-05 are 3rd gens. 3rd gens break down into phase 1, 2, and 3. 95-99 are phase 1, 00-02 are phase 2, and 03-05 are phase 3.
