Virginia BBQ

Virginia is huge, I know, but I want to throw a BBQ in Virginia, first I need to know if people are going to come, I know a great spot in Bridgewater, VA, that closer to the North.

But, if we want to move it further south we can arrange something. Maybe in Charlottesville? IDK.

First off, is anyone in, and if so? When and where?

Let me know Kyle on the meet.

I've met quite a few more delta owners here too now, I could gather a decent group.

Yea, Richmond sounds good.

I did a quick search, and just picked one randomly from the parks, this one is also a bit out of the city.

Henrico County Parks & RecHenrico County Parks & Rec
8600 Dixon Powers Dr
Richmond, VA 23228-2735

Now we just need a day, some people, and don't rule out anybody who doesn't drive a chevy, a few friends of mine drive hondas and they will becoming.

So, any ideas on days?

henrico is like on the far side west of richmond... thats like an extra 45 minutes

i was thinking petersburg... thats a little bit south of richmond but theres a racetrack there

Re: Virginia BBQ

That would work too, i just searched Richmond Parks and Rec in google.

I don't care where we go, as long as it's cool for everyone and what not. I'm in for anything.

well if hondas are comming i'll see if speedline will come out...

I don't know if they are going to drive seperately or riding with me, seeing as it's like a mini car meet they will most likely want to drive.

Also, on another note, since this is a bit of a drive for all of us, why don't we conisder crashing at a campground or hotel or w/e? any thoughts?

Speedline may have found a good motorsport park, if every one is interested, let's pick a date and time.

im in VA Beach but think richmond wouldnt be a bad for a meet up place for everyone. Juss throwing this out as a idea but Richmond dragway has test and tunes through out the summer maybe sometime everyone might wanna do that as a group event. If i am able to come to the bbq i will probaly bring my GTP if thats cool, my cav is juss a stock daily driver.

So far, heres the tentative schedule -- i dont have all the dates yet

Aug 8 - CHKD Charity Show - Edenton, NC (Speedline is helping this show get off the ground, but we are not working it (judging, parking, etc) so we're going to enter.... i have work, i won't be there)
Aug 23 - Street Dreamz BBQ - Hampton VA - I'll be here
Sept 4 - 6 - Hostile Takeover - Lumberton, NC - Presented by Lowered Atmospheres with Drop Jaw's Legendary night show. I'll be here (The official party hotel is the American Best Value Inn)
Oct 16 - 18 - Freak Show 9 - Kinston, NC - Presented by Drop Jaw Magazine. I should be here... not sure what the hotel will be yet
Some other weekend in october - Simms Foundation Charity Show. Again Speedline will be organizing this show, but not judging so we can enter
Some other weekend in october - Test & tune day at Dinwiddy va QT mile track - Speedline Performance
Some weekend in November - Neighborhood Block Party 2 - Presented by Neighborhood Dreamz - Hertford, NC (show + 1/8 th mile track)
Some other weekend in november - Test & Tune day at Maryland International Race Way - Budds Creak, MD - Speedline Performance
Some weekend in December - Chesapeake City Parade, 12 cars from speedline have been invited.

Now there are a few more charity shows in the works that we're planning, but don't have dates yet...our main charity is CHKD, but we also picked up the SIMMS foundation. and our clubs major sponsors are, Sams club/Walmart, The Village Engraver, Calbones Racing, Intermedia Radio (94.9 FM, 104.5 FM)... to name a few, so we throw some pretty amazing shows

Ben: As of now... shoot to be here for freak show... Kinston is maybe 2.5 hours south of here, but its worth it... you can bring cora, and she can have 10,000 people tell her she's hot

Re: Virginia BBQ
Tuesday, July 28, 2009 6:41 PM
since i just started, my vacation days are prorated and i only get 5 anytime PTO days for the rest of the year. i'll also get like 5 holiday days and even my birthday off paid, but i have to use those days in the pay period that they fall in.

beginning jan 1st ill get 24 paid days off though, with 10 being holidays. i can deal with that....at least ill have bash time!
