This is the 50th anniversary of the show, so hopefully something good goes down this year. The last few years have been pretty blah.

But I have my own personal qualms with the show. I don't think you should allow fully restored cars to a "custom" show. lol.

Although it will be cold/wintery out so I'll probably attend for lack of anything else to do. Glad you said something, because its about a month away now isn't it? I know you've entered the last few years, but do you have a date yet?

why not. im not a fan of restored cars but some of them are done nicer and cleaner then current custom cars. and they compete in their own class.

I just don't think you should call it a CUSTOM show, when you have bone stock cars there. Sure they are nice to look at, but if I am paying to just look around, and paying to park, then fighting all that damn traffic downtown, I want too look at something I'm not gonna see at any other car show during the summer in some crap parking lot.

Just my theory. Last year I spent more time in the downstairs back corner looking at the Rat Rods they tried to hide away then I did anywhere else.

so you take all the resto's out of the show and now your paying $14 for allot smaller show. some of those resto's have more money put into then then the so called customs you see, which you can see atany parking lot during the year as well. some people look at the rat rods and go. why are these pieces of junk here, unpainted, rusty, hacked together parts. some look at the motorcycles and go why are they here, its a car show. get them out of here. some people look at the custom cars and go why did they ruin the look of that car. its a car show, your not always going to have everything that you want to see. they try to come up with a good mix of all forms of automotive styles.

and i wouldnt call being on the main show floor hidden away. hell the race cars and our cars are in an entirely diffrent hall on the third floor. ( though i prefer to be there personally)

Who the hell cares about how much money you have in a car? Becuase jim has 50,000 in his, and jack has 10,000 in his, jims 50k car is better? At least that's what I'm gathering from your statement.

I am not trying to start some fued with you, or even really argue with you on this. I am just stating my opinion on the subject. I don't expect any one to agree with it.

OEM has no buisness being at a small show. If you take out the OEM cars that someone paid someone else to build from the ground up that doesn't mean its a smaller show. Look at HIN. Its a huge show with all modified cars, trucks, vans and bikes. You don't see nobody rollin into that show with a OEM car, and the show is a monster.

Again just my opinion. You don't like it, hit alt f4 and stfu.

OEM 2009 Camaro? Doesn't belong.

OEM 69 Camaro? Hell yes it belongs.

BTW, HIN doesn't compare to shows on the CASI circuit. Apples to Oranges, buddy. And saying that the money into a car doesn't matter may be true. It's not about the money you put into it, it's about the time. The guys that put THOUSANDS of man-hours into restoring a rusted-out, parted-out shell of a 71 Cuda back to that perfect OEM status deserve a spot in that show.

umm if you want HIN then go to HIN. the two shows are complety diffrent things, you might as well say you dont like to watch the bengals because they dont score any baskets like the bulls do. this isnt about new custom cars. its about all cars and all car forms. like i said, hey, i dont really care for rat rods. but i dont say they shouldnt be there just because i dont care about them . and last time checked having 400+ cars at a show isn't a small car show. it generates the same number of cars HIN generates actually more depending on which show u go to. HIN does have great cars, but as a car show competition it sucks. you hate oem, well i hate getting docked points because of the brand of tires you buy.

and sorry if you dont like the money remark, but this isnt hop scotch, this is modifying cars and it take money to play this game. my point wasn't about who has the monst money into it. it was more along the lines that i can respect a person that devots allot of money and time and effort into restoring a car back to better then factory conditions versus some kid who slaps on a plastic body kit, wheels and thinks he has a show car.

so nice of you to share your opinion and then tell me to shut the @!#$ up. im just voicing my opinion on the matter same as you so no need to get your panties in a bunch.

yeah we dont miss slamology. ever. we even went last year on sunday after the bash without having a car. hell we will be pre-regestered for it in a few weeks im sure. esp since import truck bash dies slamology is the show to go to. last year they were around 600+ cars and chances are this year will see a bigger increase.

which to add to that, i'll be in gauge magazines area for the indianapolis world of wheels in februrary 15th or whenever that weekened is.

well the car was delivered to the painter monday nigh to redo the area where the battery came out of the engine bay, nothing like country back roads with ice at night with a show car to make a nice stressful 45minute drive. so i should be getting the car back sometime monday or tuesday night and then leaving around 2 on wednesday to come to cincy.

slamology is definatly worth the trip and a great show. between all the cars 600+ the bands playing all weekend 20+ bands and everything else. its a really great show

well painter called me saturday and i wont get the car back till late tuesday night, nothing like getting the car back 16 hours before your supposed to leave. i still have a few things i need to take care of on it. hate being rushed lol.

i am real curious to see how they setup the 3rd floor this year though,. normally its the race cars and steros vendors and then a few of the newer cars. well i guess the stereo guys wont be upstairs this year, and they are putting 4 past squires cup winners and a 2 past isca champions upstairs. so seems like they are switching things up a little bit. and ive also heard that they have 50 cars are in waiting in case someone is a no show. so the will have full capacity. were as last year they were making calls last minute to try and fill some spots. so maybe that is an indicater that things are getting better.
