today I went looking for a few minor interior parts at the harrys u-pull it in pennsburg (http://www.wegotused.com/) off of 309
and there are running a special that ends saterday,$80 an engine..
the reason I mention this special is I came across this
I would have gotten it myself but I was just laid off yesterday,dont have the room for it or the money to get everything else needed for the conversion.. I didnt think to check untill later but I believe it was a 05 cav.. the engine wasin great shape and im pretty sure it would run.. nothing was removed from it (YET) so its all still there) it has front end damage though (why its at the yard..
if anyone is interested I believe its in the second to last row of gm cars before enetering the ford section..and about three or four cars in from the path..(about where the hot pink H is in the picture below)
if youre in the area and youre looking for the ecotec there ya go.. figure id mention it here ,I cant get it but hopefully someone on here does..would be a shame to see it just get picked apart and trashed...
if its in harry's its gone by now nothing stays long in that yard. hopefully someone will get the whole thing before the vultures go at it
there was about 4-5 ecotecs at harrys in hazelton

I left the yard as they were closeing today around 4...its been sittiing there possibly a week and half now, last time I was there I remember checking the car for the interior parts I wanted and didnt think to check the engine..it will be there but not for much longer im sure.. like i said, figured id throw it up in case anyones looking.

now that i think about it. 3 ecotecs where in Js. and the 4th was in a cobalt. and all were in the mixed GM lot the one all the way in the back corner next to the dodge lot

WHAT???? anyone want some cash to pick up some stuff for me?(would LOVE an ecotec in my 2000 cavi...always thought it might be too expensive)

if it happens, it should be just towards the end of winter (or at least after all the nasty stuff passes) that way all the people that dont know how to drive in the stuff will have a chance to crash their cars and get em into the yards...lol..

indeed it shall lol. i need to pick me up some things so when it starts warming up ill def be ready to go there.
keep in mind these Eco's i saw there was back in the fall. but the good side is that Harry's is starting to get newerish stuff in the yard

which one do you go to? ive seen a few from time to time at the pennsburg spot.. the allentown harrys sucks, 12 small rows of mixed gm with not very many good cavaliers or sunfires.. Havent been to the hazleton one yet since i dont head up that way very often if at all.. but i heard thats the biggest and best of the three...
and yeah, I was half jokeing about a harrys meet come spring but the more i think about it it could work..its nothing too formal,gives people a chance to meet and f around in a junk yard ,find stuff ya wanted or just check whats around for spares ,plus with the sales they run everyweek by then who knows what it will be, sometimes they have an all you can carry sorta deal or what you can fit on a cart.. for x amount of dollers..
now the question would remain.. which one to do it at.. pennsburg is good...a-town sucks...and hazleton is supposedly the best.. so im guessing its a toss up between the two better ones..
penns thats where me and joker both go. i need to hit up hazeltown heard there are lots of cavs out that way.
just looked at the specials, hazleton has $45 transmissions this week,next week its $75 engines...so if they have ecotecs theres your chance to get both the engine and transmission cheap..
damn! that would be an awesome deal. i wish i had a place to put the thing though, and i day i was off to pick it up. if i didn't work 6 days a week i'd even be willing to come down from ny to go to a harry's meet lol. stupid job.
lol take some vacation time lol and i might just go pick up an eco for the hell of it and build it in my free time at the shop along with the tranny.
now that i got GPS i might hit the allentown Harrys more offten

Pennsburg might be the more central for us to meet at since we'er in that radius of it , Hazelton is a long haul and HUGE , thats a full wekender there . im sure Hazelton has sunfires but like most cars there all frnt end hits.

ive been to harrys allentown its about an hour and a half from me. its not the best yard ever.
