So where can I get unleaded race gas? I would prefer a place where I can drive up any time and pump it. Maple Grove sells it (I think), but that only during track operating hrs and isn't there a fee to get on the grounds?
Is there a Sunoco or somthing where I can get 101-105 octane? I don't much care about the price, just the convenience/availability.
Just to assuage everyone's questions, this is not for the cavalier, its for the solstice - Hahn turbo kit makes the most power on race gas (duh)
the only one I ever found was maple grove....
take some 55 gallon drums enxt time the track is open? lol

We get 5 gallon drums from VP racing fuels. We have a local distributor in Syracuse for us.
Check out VP racing fuels and call and see if there is a distributor near you.

Do you have any issues with delivery or disposal of the drums? Or do you just return them to the distrubutor? My township is very anal about residential disposal of chemical or hazardous waste.
Well we have 5 blue square jugs from Jegs and 1 can filled with Racing Methanol for the pulling tractor we are building and firing up this week. We just get the blue jugs filled when we stop there and the metal one gets re-used as well. Its like a normal re-fillable 5 gallon container.
No really disposing of any hazardous waste.
Thats cool. How much is it when you buy in bulk, like 20+gal at a time. At the local track, sunoco 100 octane is 8.09/gal. Stupid thing is, if I could actually drive up to a pump near my house I would pay that...
If all works out, the solstice will be HRC stage4 over winter - just need to find a convenient source of high octane unleaded...
I'm not sure what the pricing is currently, I wasn't there when the last stuff was bought. I would assume something close to that.
I was just at Maple Grove last weekend for Super Chevy......110 octane is $8.50 at the track......93 is $4.50
Stick with pump gas, you can tune a car to make lots of power on 93.....save your money

I appreciate it, but 93 only gets you so far when you're running almost 11:1 compression. HRC has a thicker head gasket and valvetrain parts that allow more boost on 93 octane, but thats another expense as well. Hahn could elaborate I'm sure, but the best numbers are made with 100 octane IIRC.
Plus the 110 @ maple grove is leaded. the 100 there is the highest octane unleaded they have.
