Hey guys my job got me thinking ( I work for Great Lakes Car-O-Liner) and i'm wondering who on here works for a bodyshop/collision shop and what type of Equiptment you guys have and are using. I.E.- Cheif, Blackhawk, Shark, Car-O-liner, Floor track system, and so on. So lets hear it! Thanks guys
havent worked in a body shop in over a decade......but the ones I did work at had nothing special, all home designed spray booths, etc.
my buddy works at a body shop, its called cavallos. they do all high end cars so im sure they have great stuff there. i asked him to get me a job there so i can drive all the benz', bmws, bentleys and ferraris.
eh, its over rated and gets old fast.
yeah, except id always let my freinds see me ridin a ferrarri.
Devilbiss spray guns is about the only name brand tool i use or have besides my air compressor.
I use a Chief measuring system and a Echo drive over frame machine. Best combo out there for me. I don't like the drive ons cause you can't work under them comfortably. But that is just personal preferance.
that's true but frame machines aren't really designed foryou to work from underneath. And the chief measuring is that mechanical or electronic?
Chief Velocity measuring system. Gives you width, height and length. That is why I like to get under a frame machine. To be able to set up my targets. I work under the frame machine alot actually lol. That's why I got a bad back. In my shop, I do suspension work as well so a drive on would suck cause I do it right on the frame machine as well. The chief measuring system allows me to measure SAI from my ball joints. Here's a link to the frame machine I work with. Not the one in the shop of course.

We don't do to many full size trucks or trucks for that matter up here in New Jersey but I have had them on there and pulled them. Works great all the time every time.
chief makes some of the best systems ive ever used
easy setup and great options for any type of shop
ok since both u guys like chief, what do u like and dislike about it?
and these are a couple of the systems i sell:
electonic measuring

large frame rack

my personal fav- the small rack:
I like that I only have to set the targets once and can see the pulls as I go along.
I don't like that the center section can be effected by the way you place the targets onto the car or by wich type of atachment you use. But once you get your center section sqaured away, you can really zoom through a job.
Why do you like the small rack the most. Looks like you can really get around it good.
the small rack ( "SPEED") is a light duty frame rack. I like it because it goes 5ft in the air, sits nearly flush w/ the ground. And if u got a car that needs a little "love" pull that's the machine for it. I used one to pull the Motor outta my car worked awsome
i worked with a blackhawk frame puller when i was in tech school. since then ive seen just been in the dealership life
