i am going to put new coil packs on my 2.2 4cyl and I was wandering if you had to get a mount to mount them on cause we had to put a set on a 92 lumina and we had to buy a special mounting plate. also, will the coils fit off of a 91 3.1 z24, or are they different .any help is appreciated. im getting the coils from orielly auto and they are borg warner name brand if that makes a difference

They mount onto the ignition module. Four screws if I remember right. I would take the module and have it tested too if you haven't already. It comes right off with the coils. You don't need anything else to mount them on although some people have relocated the ignition module and coils to an area that is easier to get too. <br>

That's actually right. The DIS module is a pricey item. <br>

Yep that would be it. It is very expensive. Autozone or advance either one I know can test them. Probably any of the parts places could. <br>

i thought it was the coil packs but i ran the code tester on it and it come up code15 which is the coolant temperature sensor . does anyone have a clue where its located on the motor. i saw something that looked like it on the thermostate housing??

???????? i might be wrong but i think the coolant temp sensor is the thermostat. which would be inside the thermostat housing. but your engine could be different. dont quote me on that. <br>

ok nevermind i was wrong. its not the same thing. the sensor should be located somewhere around the thermostat housing. <br>

the coolant temperature sensor is on the drivers side of the thremostat housing. my coil pack module only cost like 50 bucks but then i only have a 2.0 in mine <br>

i dont think that the coolant sensor is whats wrong but that is what the code scanner said so its worth a try. I just dont think that it could make it not crank,it cranks it just takes two or three tries. I was thinking of the crankshaft position sensor.

Dave....

I have three modules and four coil packs for a 2.2

Two coil packs and one module (Autozone) are brand new. Shoot me a fair price and they'll be on the way. Just collecting dust in the garage here.

When I say brand new I mean three miles or so. Put em in and then blew up the motor (spun a rod bearing) oval racing.

email me direct <br>

Do you have anything that would fit a 1994 Pontiac sunbird?
