no the 3400 is not a drop in you need at least one knew mount
i would recomend the 3.1 3400 hybrid build

that or go turbo

than do a hybrid... since u have the 2.8 you can put 3.1 heads on it correct?

at least that'll free up some power.

2.8 and 3.1 use the same heads.

The best swap going right now for a Z24 is the 3400 because all you need is the new front mount bracket and since yours is an 89 you'll need the 92-94 radiator hose and overflow tank. You can keep all of your stock wiring, computer and transmission.

If you were to do the 2.0 turbo swap you'd need to swap all of the sunbird wiring, computer, and transmission. and if you wanted working gauges you'd need to swap to a sunbird dash setup.

like sunValier said i recomend a 3400. my brother is a member of beretta xtreme and he did the 3400 swap to his car, if you have a 3100 right now it wont be to hard of a swap, but if you have a 3.1 you will have to change a lot of your stock setup. but if you put it in i recomend having a 5 speed cause his automatic is already slipping cause the auto cant handle that much power, we are doing a 5 speed in his and other beretta owners say that the 5 speed will make just as much of an improvement as the 3400 did

well maybe if you got a uprgraded tranny, or a fresh newier tranny it'd hold fine...

not using a tranny thats probably seen over 100K miles, than put some extra torque to it and of course its gonna screw up.
