There is a type of clear coat out there that gives it the protection of clear coat, but keeps the color looking flat.

those pics were before the clear coat, i was saying its done now as i was typing, and yes that is dust on the hood, here are a few pics of it totally finished clear coated and everything.
yea its alittle dusty because this was right after i got it back, i couldn't wash it yet. Will get more pics after washed.

no, the original was like a teal. This is a darker green, with alot of silver flakes in it. It looks alot better in person if you see it.
