3400 exhaust mani....
Monday, February 18, 2008 5:27 PM
got a quick question my 3.1 exhaust manifold has a small crack and i was wondering if the 3400 exhaust manifold will bolt up to the 3.1 block i know these engines are very similar but i was told they can i don't see it really working since the 3400 is a lil bigger.

yes they will bolt up and are a good upgrade to the 3.1 manifolds. you will need to get the front pipe flange for them and have some one mate them up with your exsisting exhaust.

so would it be better to put on both 3400 manifolds & the crossover pipe from the 3400?

or would 1 have to be made...

cause everything i read says the 3400 manifolds are sooooooooo much better flow wise than the 3100 manifolds

I understand then it would have to be mated to the rest of the exhaust via the down pipe right???

thanks

well thats sweet that they will fit cuz i might be geting some off a 03 Grand am GT, but you said that i would have to mate them to my original exhaust, i dont have the mani folds with me to see what i need to do but, Am i going to need to cut off the front pipe flange from a 3.1 manifold to mate it with my 3.1? Or do i need to bent some pipe up to fit and just use the original 3400 flange?
i think i confused myself so if my question sounds We tar dead just slap me in the face and clear things up for me please.

yes use the front, rear manifold and crossover from the 3400. you need a flange for the rear manifold to mate them to your currant exhaust. most custom exhaust shops should be able to mate it up for you!
