I just built a 92 sunbird for our local dirt track.. Somebody told me if I remove the instrument panel that it will effect the computer that it will throw some of the sensors into a open loop..Is this true

I think so, But i'm no expert.

IMO just leave it in, What will it save you? 1 pound?

Thanks for the help..I had to take the dash out for the roll cage but I didnt cut any wires untill I found out.

I know that you need the dash in the newer cars for sure. Already tried that with my race car, not so sure about the older ones. Mine dosent even start without the cluster.

Go ahead and throw away the instrument cluster. The ecm is completely independent.
