I have a auto transmission and it isn't fully engauging into second gear does this happen and could it be fixed. and will a 2.2l ecotec motor bolt up to the stock motor mount in my 94 cavalier.
First thing I'd check is fluid level. Changing the filter would be my next step. I'm gonna say no on a ecotec being a straight bolt in, but a 3100 or 3400 wouldn't be a bad choice, especially since the 2nd gens came with 2.8s and 3100s.
The ECOTEC is not a direct bolt in. Nowhere near it. The 2nd gens didn't come with a 3100, they had a 3.1, which is in the same 60degV6 family, but not the same engine.
