Hey was doing some searching and I found that the KYB AGX's dont warranty a drop over 1.5" and that Koni REd/Yellow and Tokico Dspec/hp have no limits on drop. I searched on these brands because they seem to be the most popular and the best from my research. Just wanted to varify the warranty info. on the struts though. Thankx guys.
agx's are 1.5" limit. gr-2s are not lowering struts but are also a 1.5" limit. konis dont have a set limit but they say as long as you dont abuse the strut they will warrenty it.
How about the D-specs as those are the ones I want. FYI I want to run the D-specs w/ the sport line springs. I've saved up for this and I want to varify if they have a limit or not b4 I blow $500 on shocks and $200 more on springs. Ohh those are ebay prices incase yall were wondering?
Same as the Koni's or the Agx's.
im looking at possibly getting seom agx's finally and i ahve BG lowering springs which is a 1.5" drop. my question to everyone is how exact will they get if i need to replace a strut. i mean the specs of the springs state a 1.5" drop, but with any set of springs they may settle past that...
what do you all think?
not all springs sag. some do and some dont. kyb has a way of telling if it was taken past the 1.5" mark.
Sorry to stray from the main subject slightly, but I've got a related question... is it really true that KYB will cover GR-2 struts used in less-than 1.5" drops, just like the AGXs? I know everybody recommends the AGXs in that situation when you're on a budget, but just seems strange to me that the GR-2s, which are "OEM replacements", and "not meant for lowering", and even "likely to blow sooner than later" would still be covered under a lifetime warranty if they were so terribly unsuited.

Blow a GR2, send it in at $20 shipping, wait 1 to 2 weeks for replacement, get new back, put on car, alignment for $70. Repeat eery 6 months. Oh yeah, that sounds cheap to me too!
Sarcasm asside, a blown strut is dangerous too. You have greatly extended stopping times, and less control (especially over uneven road). GR2s may be cheap up front, but if they're constantly blowing they'll quickly catch up to the price of doing it right in the first place. Which is the reason we steer people away from GR2s for an lowering more than 1.1" (which are still stock spring rates).
By the way, B+Gs are 1.6" drop, someone was saying less above.
