Looking for parts for this I'm finding a lot of conflicting/confusing info.

1st gen neon = 1995-1999
2nd Gen Neon = 2000 - Current
So anyways I just got in on the GP going on
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=50&i=28131&t=28131 for the machined parts for neon rear disk setup, the machined brackets as well as the hard wear to make the lines work etc.. Also I found brand new "2nd Gen 00-05" rear calipers w/ pads, all new for $85 for it all so I jumped on that.
Now I'm looking into rotors, I'm seeing 10.1" and 10.6" what applies to what? Also this is what I decided I want
this but it says its for 00-02 Chrysler neon, 95-99 dodge neon and 00-05 dodge neon????? Which according the the first couple quotes have a different brake setup? Also if the calipers i have got are 00-05 and they come with pads how can the same calipers be used form 95-02 only?
WTF can any make some sense out of this for me?
Id like to know all this as well
the 10.1 diameter rotors are for brackets stamped "14"
the 10.6 rotors are for brackets stamped either "15 or 16"
calipers that look like this
should fit all of them as well as Sebring verts ( Coupes and Sedans are very different )
Daytona setups should work as well, the vented disks should work for you if you have the 15-16" brackets and the calipers from a Daytona Shelby ( 88-89 2.5 turbo ? )
I'm not a 100% of the differing years of Neons, but i can tell you that the brackets from the mid 90's Chrysler's have the the ABS sensor mount done differently. The bracket that James has I believe the sensor hole is flush with the back of the bracket. with the other brackets (and there are allot of them out there) the mounting is the opposite. it is mounted almost at the same level as the parking brake shoes.
eerrrrr ooops forgot to mention that those ARE NOT NEON BRACKETS . just use it as a reference as to how your may fit...can ya tell it been a long day?
Ok, when I went to the Chrysler dealer to find out what parts came on what for ease of a "Hey, I'm at the j/y, but theres no 95 Neon here!" problem, I got the info you quoted.
Bracket- All Neons (95-04, I don't know about 05, but I'd guess its the same) use the same caliper bracket. Thats based on the part number alone. As we all know, other brackets can be used as well (Daytona, etc).
Caliper- For some reason, the actual caliper design changed for the 03+ model years. I don't know what the change was, but its a different part number. The pads may be the same, I didn't look into that, since at the time, no one was really getting into Daytona, Sebring, etc parts. It was probably a tiny change in the caliper that gave it a different number.
Rotors- The factory rotor is the same from 95-02, and there is a different part number for 03+. Again, I don't know what the change is, but it has a different part number. Its probably the 10.6" rotor Cinny is showing us.
When I got all this info, I got everything I could before they threw me out for asking too many questions with other customers in line. I didn't realize there would be so many people using whatever they could find, or that there would be so many spin-offs from the actual 100% Neon setup. Keep in mind that the Chrysler and Dodge Neons are exactly the same mechanically, so parts can be swapped directly. I wish I could give you guys more info on what will work and what won't, but I did all my research based on the factory part numbers of what I had in my hand.

Do you mean Saab brakes? I don't know of any Volvo parts that will fit, but some years of Saab 9-5 will bolt right up with no modification, you'll just have a wider track by about 1.5" total.
do you know what year saabs

^^Fixed your link...
So, if I understood that post correctly, to use the 10.6" rotors, gotta use SRT-4 calipers, 10.1", either reg neon or SRT cals.
Ok... something new to add to the shopping list. Not that 1/2" makes that much of a difference, but SRT-4 rotors rear only are easier to find on eBay than those listed as Neon...
thats what it sounds like coming form the neon people
and I think the confususion about designs only going to 2002 may be from the fact that they stoped the chrysler neon then, the dodge neon they continued
So basically we can use the SRT-4 calipers, rotors, and pads?
This is so confusing.

yes... i would like to know exactly what i need to buy. i too got in on the group buy...
i want hawk pads, slotted n cross-drilled rotors and new e-brake shoes.
where do i get all that?

I have a question and it may or may not be a dumb one:
The 1st gen neon and 3rd gen j-body rear tracks are almost identical so why can't we just completely remove the rear end/suspension and swap it in one chunk? All you'd need would be to weld some anchor points for the shocks and that's about it.
Or maybe I'm not seeing the whole thing?
@Yellow & z yaaaaa:
Check my post just a couple above yours, that should help... if not, I'll go off DS's lead and do some further research.
The SRT-4 calipers should have a little deeper channel to accomodate the extra 1/4" radius of the disc, meaning that either/or rotors can be used. If you get non-SRT-4 calipers, they may not have the extra depth, putting the clearance between the edge of the rotor and the inside of the caliper a little too close for comfort, as indicated in the pictures above.
so srt-4 calipers, rotors, and pads will work?
Is that all I need to buy...then just want on the GP to ship out?
According to the Neon guys, the SRT-4 calipers will bolt up to the bracket, so yeah, they will work.
Don't forget the bolts and slides for the calipers (if not already included)
If you didn't get the e-brake shoes in the GP, then you will need a set of those as well, regular neon ones should work (same hub diameter)
ok...yea I got the e-brake shoes.
thanks just waiting for the GP stuff now
ok... i'll just buy the srt-4 calipers brand new. and a set of hawk pads for them.
thanks!

couple things to add.....
SRT setup WILL fit regular neon brackets for those looking into srt w/ hawk pads you might want to rethink that. I'm doing my tan cav first, I bought powerslot rotors and I'm gonna be using the stock rear pads for a neon. Since I autocross I'km thinking rear disk swap + performance pads may be a bit much bite and cause the rears to lock up to early.I'll start with the regualr pads and see how it goes form there. Another thing about the SRT brakes is they come from the factory powder coated red, so unless your will to remove your front calipers and get them powder coated to match its gonna look funny, if you just paint the fronts its gonna look stupid when the color doesn't match.
as for drilled and sloted rotors, hats what I want to find for the rear on the silver cav, I'm having a really hard time finding some made by anyone besides a no-name e-bay company. Which is fine for looks but I would avoid for performance.
and for reference.... pics (this was a regular neon to SRT swap front and rear, but its pics of how it all goes together ect.,.)

The bolts and slides are included in the kit im selling. So that'll save you ~$40.00 right there
ok... im just going to wait and buy all my other parts after many other ppl do their setups first... then i'll just ask some of you what to buy so i can get it right then.
darkstars-i wouldnt dream of having red calipers on my car... i would for sure do a color change if need be.

Frankly, I don't mind if they are red... these are going on my Sunfire (which is red already), so it won't look as bad...
I'd just have to match the fronts though.
