I bought a brand new set of KYB GR2's, should they have oil on the outside? Is that to prevent rust, or do I have one come to me blown already?
Alot of times, oil get spilled on the casing in the manufacturing process. It should be ok. Stroke it a few times, if it returns on its own, its ok since the gas will always leak out before the oil will.

all stocks have oil on it to keep it from rusting.

They all have pressure to them, like when I take the band off of them they want to shoot up.
weird i didnt have any oil on mine. they sounds fine though
^^^^^ i was hoping you'd pop on cause i knew you had a brand new set of gr2's. I'll double check them all and see what's up with them when i get home.
yea cuz i checked all of mine when i got them in the mail. their still in the box with the band on them but i check to make sure they were the right struts and mine didnt have oil on them. if you take that band off and they shoot up like that, if you try and push them down and they give you resistance then their still good
