ok i may have used the term wrong but i think i have a bump steer problem. i have had my front suspension apart a couple times and the alignment is really off. when i go to shift gears the car will jerk to one side or the other really hard, in any gear at almost any rpm. that being said im sure it isnt caused by torque steer. so is it just the alignment angles causing the car to pull? i have visibly bad camber for sure and as for toe and caster i dont know. thanks for any help
How are you sure it isn't torque steer?
If you can visually see that your camber is off, why not get an alignment?
Bump steer is when your suspension travles over a bump/dip in the road and the alignment angles are changed, thus affecting the way the car handles at that moment in time.
im waiting for the new front subframe and to put it on the frame rack. i should be able to do all that this weekend. the reason i dont think its torque steer is because it can do it at any time. such as running down the road say 60mph in 5th no recent gear changes and it will just jerk. it kinda sucks....
had that problem. the forces travelling through the drivers side control arm were working the front bolt loose, causing the head of it to slide around on the cradle bracket. ended up drilling the hole in the bracket out a bit, and making a thin washer with a flange to press into that hole. good luck.
