How much is an IRS setup worth?
Monday, March 05, 2007 2:35 PM
OK this post is mainly questions for the guys that have allready purchased the parts and/or have completed the IRS rear conversion to there cars.

My question is how much do the parts usually cost? Meaning the entire rear setup and then the front spindle hub assembly for the bolt pattern conversion up there also? OR maybe even just the rear setup alone? Whats an average price about 300 bucks for the rear? more or less maybe?

I have a car lined up at the local junk yard, and he quoted me a price if i come up and pull it all off. I just figured id ask to see if its to high and keep should looking, or if i should jump on it. Also if there are any guys local to me here in PA that would also want to do this conversion, he'd probably give me a deal if i stripped a few cars at the same time.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I paid $200 on a half-off day at the yard. That includes rear suspension from strut mounts to brakes and front control arms, hubs, everything you could need.

I have recieved quotes from places as low as $250 including shipping, to $500 plus shipping. Locally I have recieved quotes anywhere from $400-$800. If you have to pull it, I'd say $300 or less and you're good.

For the front, You should be able to score a complete setup off an N-body for $150 or less. That will get you the matching bolt pattern, and a 1" upgrade in rotor size. If you want to go larger for the brakes, you're going to have to mix-n-match from a W-body and an F-body (if you want the dual piston calipers)
