Auto Pilot wiring question?
Friday, March 09, 2007 8:32 PM
Need a quick answer from someone who's wired theres up....

Yellow wire 12+ Power source.... did you go to the battery?

Red Wire, 12+ Accessory source.... ? what did you use? These are the only 2 wires I have left to hook up, and not sure on the Accessory wire, and what to hook it up too.

Don't really want to go the route of the stereo, because I have a Pioneer Indash DVD and don't want to take any power from it. What else is there to wire into? Prefer towards the rear of the car, so I am not running to much wire.

...

Yep, fuse tap, or mini add-a-circuit. I prefer the mini add-a-circuit, looks cleaner, and fuses it seperately. About $7 a piece at Autozone.

If I were you I would:

1. Run your 12V constant (yellow) to anywhere you feel like.

2. Mount a toggle switch somewhere, then run your Accessory wire (red) to that, if not you'll end up redoing it later.

Here is why, someday you will want to use your air ride to either play with it/show off/or whatever the case maybe. If it is wired to your stereo OR anyother source that is a KEYED source of power you WILL HAVE TO PUT YOUR KEYS in the ignition and trun them foward or start the car to use your air, if you mount a switch somewhere you can use your air whenever you want. If security is an issue just mount the switch where only you know.
