How did you guys bore the bushing to 1/2"? i tried on 2 pairs of strut mounts now and every time the bushing came right out of the rubber strut mount.

well i used a drill press went slow and used cutting oil, but the bushings came out of the rubber mount. just trying to figure out how to get it right the next time i dont want to ruin another pair of mounts these things are too expensive.

Perhaps your drill bit isn't for metal cutting, or has become too dull?

i didn't run into any problems like that. I just threw them on the press and took my time drilling. I would say bring it to a machine shop or get a new bit.
