Im sick of reading every single post on what people use and not getting the info i want. So this is what i would like from all fellow readers. PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU CURRENTLY USING or USED THESE PRODUCTS ON YOUR CARS. NO OPINIONS!!! Just FACTS.

GROUND CONTROL COILOVERS and X brand struts on 95-99 Cavalier/Sunfire

List the following...
1. Type of Struts that you used with GC Coilovers(brand and model of struts)
2. What was wrong with it(broke or didnt work)
3. Modification(what did you have to "modify" to make the setup work)

These 3 things will help me out greatly, I appreaciate all those who post the requested information.

I have GC's on Koni reds. Yellows will perform as well and be easy to adjust.

I ordered taller springs than the GC's normally come with and changed the bearing config a little on the top, adding some washers to fill in the bottom of the 00-05 mounts.

Put a bit of anti-seize on the tightening screws on the collars. Make sure you maintain the bearings. If you do that, you'll be quite happy with the setup. The performance is excellent. Great ride and great handling.

i love when people think just because someone didnt have them on their car that we dont know what we are talking about.

you need either koni yellows or tokico dspecs. if you dont want to modify anything then get the dspecs. any other strut you put on there is going to blow

X2

Koni Yellows or D-Specs, don't consider anything else.

And bull@!#$ you couldn't find the info you were looking for, its been said over and over and over and over....

Up to a 1.5" drop = KYB AGX's
over 1.5" drop = Koni Yellows or Tokico D-Specs

those are the ONLY lowering struts available..... dropzone, Tokico HP, KYB GR2's, and all the other stuff out there are stock replacement and not ment or warrantied to handle ANY type of a drop.

I get it!! But what people are failing to realize what im ASKING. I dont care about specs or any other bull@#$%. I DONT want to know what you SHOULD/CAN use, But what DID you guys use with your Ground control coilovers and what you had to do to to make them work????? Was it a straight up install with no hassel's or did you have to drill some %*^$, Gring some $*%^, or whatever the case may be. That is all folks

You ALWAYS have to cut things to install GC's. You have to cut off the spring perches on the front struts no matter what.

For Koni's, you need to do further cutting and drilling but that has nothing to do with the GC's. Click my sig to find the instructions to install Koni's.

I'm not sure what else you're looking for. Now take a chill pill. I don't recall freaking out...

Koni and Ground COntrols on my old cavalier. Awesome considering i had Intrax on stock strut and Eibach on stock struts. Rode well and they do take some work install but well worth it. Anyone who has Ground control and Konis is not going to tell you that they suck Koni's are really the best strut to use.

You're an idiot.
Ground controls will require cutting to fit anything. Konis will require cutting to install themselves. D-Specs will bolt in, require perches to be cut off. AGX will require perches to be cut off.
If you're concerned with that, go with a full coilover setup, like TEIN Basics or Superstreet.

You would have to be pretty messed up to be able to screw up cutting perches off struts lol

There are plenty of people who would do the whole install for you, but likely not for someone with an attitude problem

Anyway, I have Yellows and GC's and love them. Have had them for almost 2 years.
