on my g/f's 02 cavi, she had a tire leak. well she took it to a place and got a valve stem and that fixed that problem, but ever since she took it there it is making a constant knocking sound up front on the passenger side. It's not as noticeable when you're easy on the gas and not going very fast, but when you increase your speed is when you start to hear this constant knocking noise. Could this be a bad strut mount or what?
its not a strut mount, strut mount will squeek/creek when you go over bumps. if i were you, id check to make sure they tightened the lugs all the way.
This is funny! Ok First off I just replaced my Monroe's with TOKICO HP! After I installed them there's this knocking sound coming from the passenger rear. I go back and tighten every nut and bolt I could find. Still didn't work. Here I am thinking well maybe I need new mounts. I bought brand new mounts installed them and drove it for a day everything was good to go. The very next day there's this same knocking sound, but now it's on my driver rear side. I went back and tighten everything up and it's still there. So to me this is a mystery unless someone has had the same problem and fix it. If I push down on my driver rear you can hear the same knocking noise and it sound like it's coming from the mount area.
well for one your lowered on struts that are oem replacements. is your spring binding up anywhere? are they seated properly on the struts?
I'm lowered on struts? If you're referring to my pics those pics are 5 years old. I don't have my car lowered anymore it's been almost 5 years. They are seated properly on the struts.
yea i just saw the pic and was just saying incase you didnt know but if your not lowered ok. the only thing i could think of is the spring binding because its not seated properly. when you replaced your mounts, did you get new mounts for both sides on the rear or just the rear passenger?
I got new gabriel mounts for both sides. I was thinking maybe I can take the whole thing about and reseat it again to see what happens.

my vote goes for this as well I had my bonneville worked on at one time and the idiots didn't tighten the lugs, tighten em up there probably hand tight.

well i took it to a shop this morning, and they used an air gun so i'm sure they are tight, and the noise is still there! Everything is stock on the suspension, and the whole car for that matter. This is weird
just to let you know.. air (impact) guns dont always do the job.. A torque wrench is essential

Totally unrelated, but I used to want my car to look EXACTLY like yours about 3 years ago, before I got my car... I still have the pics that are in your profile saved on my old computer hahahahaha.
