i just bought some brand new slotted/crossdrilled rotors and brand new axxis pads from www.smgmotoring.com and i did a search and came up with this:
1) jack car up
2) remove tire
3) 3/8" allen key (2 bolts on the back of each caliper)
4) remove caliper
5) compress the caliper with the old pads still on (i find it easier this way and use a "C" clamp but they make tools for brakes)
6) remove old pads and replace with new ones
7) pull rotor off (nothing holds it on once you remove the caliper)
8) put new rotor on
9) put caliper back over new rotor
10) tighten the 2 bolts for the back of the caliper
11) put tire back on
12) lower the car
13) pump the brakes back up
if you dont remove any brake lines or open any then there is no need to bleed the brakes

is there anything else i need to do, i read something about lubing the caliper pins???
thanks for any and all help
You take a women and X her by PSI devide the legs and you can then juice the car......LOL
i think thats the write up i actually did. thats the basics of it. some people will recommend to grease the slider pins (thats the 2 3/8" bolts on the back of the caliper). the rotors may be stuck on the hubs so you may need to get it a good whack to get them off. thats really it. pretty simple/
i don't have to have the rotors turned do i?
thanks for your help

nobody will turn sloted/drilled rotors
lol ok, i don't know alot about turning rotors, but why is that and whats the purpose of it, and how long do you think these rotors will last?

You don't machine new rotors. People machine old rotors to resurface them and get rid of any high spots when they're going to reuse them. These days though it's often cheaper or only marginally more expensive to just buy new ones.
I definitely recommend cleaning and re-greasing the sliders. You might as well, while you've got the calipers off.
Do not forget a thin layer of grease whereever the pad touches the caliper to prevent sqeaking.

thanks guys for all the comments, i'm so excited to put them on can't wait for them to get here

Don't forget to tie the caliper to something after you take it off. Don't let it dangle by the brake hose.
Compress the caliper before you take it off the car. Since you are throwing away the old pads and rotors, you can use a screwdriver between the rotor and pad. Of course, a c-clamp is preferred, if you have one already.
You sound like you are fairly new at working on cars, so don't forget the basic safety stuff like jack stands.
So you got your stuff from them?
How lon gwas the turn around time to get your goods?

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
You need to grease the pins, or the calipers could get stuck, burn up the pads, and prematurly wear the rotor away. I've seen it, thats why I'm saying it.

Good luck with the install. It's pretty simple stuff except sometimes those rotors can seem impossible to get off. A sledge and block of wood will take of it though.:-)

I would have thought this about the drums, the rotor should be easy grab it at 9 and 3 o'clock rock it back and forth and pull it off.
sometimes its not that easy. i just did my brakes a week ago (just replaced the pads) and the passenger side rotor came off pretty easily once the caliper was off but the driver side was stuck on pretty good.
