Hi members,
I have a 96 Sunfire with H&R Sport Springs, so it's lowered by 1.5-2" or so. It performs great BUT because a part of the exhaust touches speed bumps, I'd like to raise it about 1/2" to avoid this. Also sometimes the ground hoist touches part of a curved support/safety bar at the bottom front drivers side and I want to avoid that.
Is there an easy way to raise the springs slightly? I remember seeing some kind of insert that can be put inside the springs to extend the springs slightly, does anyone have experience using this technique, or know who sells this?

I seen those inserts at Checker once, and used them on my pickup. They didn't raise it, what a rip off...
You should be able to find slip in spring inserts at most parts stores, and they'll also have metal clamp like ones that can be used to raise or lift depending how you set it up.
I'd use the twist in ones first, and you might even try them at different areas on the spring to see how they effect how it sits. I'd suggest 2 - 3 per spring too to maintain a semi level area where you are separating the spring more. The clamp ones are unadvisable in my book. I used them when I was like 16 to lower my car slightly... ghetto rookie bs. Glad I learned better.
