I installed a set of TEIN basic coilovers over the weekend on another car.
I love how they have their top hats designed to mate with the stock mounts and use the existing front bearings. I think this is a better design than the Ground Control style top hat with the open bearings in the front. The back really doesn't matter, though they were nice as well.
So here's what I'm wondering...
I should have measured but I didn't. Does anyone know if the inner diameter of the eibach springs that come with Ground Controls is the same as the springs that come with the TEIN's? If so, can I order those front TEIN pieces separately without a kit?
Hmm... might be a no-go. Looks like the TEIN springs are wider than the GC springs by a quarter inch or so.
Maybe it's time to just buy the whole TEIN SS kit...
TEIN unfortinatly did the market reasearch and are not willing to sell the top hats without the full SS kit. for fear of selling lots of mounts and no coilovers.

He is actually talking about the bronze upper spring seat that comes with the basics.
Kevin, I doubt they would sell them seperate. They are kinda anal about piecing things out. Never hursts to call. I will be taking mine off soon to put on camber plates, if you want, I can measure them out and model them up in CAD if you want. It will be kinda pricy to get them made in aluminum i'm sure though.

Go Go OG Traction!!
i think i am responsible for this post, ahhahaha
thanx for the install Kevin
Cheers, Jay
heh. Yes you are.

How's it riding now after a few days?
I did a bit of research and found that I can get the pieces, but they won't fit. The TEIN springs are 70 mm ID while the GC's use, I believe, a 2.5" ID, so the springs wouldn't fit onto the seats.
Too bad. They're nicely designed.
they ride nice. Firm, but not overly so, and the car feels like its glued to the road. ordered the strut mount, the car is in for paint and they are getting it and putting it in while its there.
too bad you cant pick up the pieces your looking for, I guess SS's are always an option? a lil more expensive but nothing a few saved insurance payments wouldnt cover
I found out that I can get the pieces, but they won't fit. Ah well... was worth a shot.
