The front and rear strut mounts on my '02 Sunfire Sedan are worn out so I am going to be replacing them very soon with KYB's '95-'99 front mounts and HT Motorsports' solid rear mounts. My current setup consists of KYB AGX struts and Eibach Pro Kit springs with Monroe front and rear strut mounts.
While looking up part numbers on KYB's website, I came across their
front strut boots. They claim to act as "bump stops" when the car receives a "severe impact". This would be nice as my front end does bottom out on occasion, but if they aren't going to do what they claim then I'd rather not waste my money.
So, my question is; Are the KYB front strut boots worth buying or not? Thanks in advance.
I can't really see a way that the rubber dust cover boot is going to absorb any impact.
We always just reuse the boots anytime I lower a car.
it probably has a bump stop inside of it just like the oem ones.
