Defently strog and true box just don't know about the extra weight and why you made them adjustible instead of smaller and solid? nice though, my car could sure use those.

now thats what i call a freakn subframe brace.
love how the front piece is completely flat, sturdy and hollow... why?
1.) allows you to now use the front to jack up on and not worry about it bending (because YES, it does)
2.) wiring can now go inside it for a more cleaner look and hell.. its safer to...
i am a fan. this is something you see on hondas etc... ive always wanted something like this.
great freakn job, phil. how much?
nightmares- i dont see it being that much heavier than stock. its all aluminum. stock is steel. the ONLY weight difference i can see is stock doesnt have anything on the passenger side and this does. and of course the large front piece is beefier but i'll bet it weighs close to the same just because its aluminum.
*** going back im not 100% sure it aluminum but if it is, awesome. if not... we'll id prerfer aluminum. lol.
ill bet this thing aides a TON in the deflection of wheel hop.

Freakin Awesome is an understatement.

The only thing I question is the fact that the passenger side still has the swivel point on the dogbone, but I guess if you have the eurethane or solid upper than it won't really be an issue.
It's funny to see this posted right now, because I just started working on a bolt in unit like this for mine, but it's going to be one piece aluminum, and I'm working on integrating the lower V6 mount to the passenger side.
The original design of the dog-bone could never hold weight anyway. ALL of the weight of the engine is on the top mount and the bottom mount does one thing and only one thing which is keep the engine from rocking front to back. So this still accomplishes this task 100%. Now, aluminum, the stock steel is safer then the aluminum so whoever said something about being safer....probably not. But it is nice looking.

I'd need to see more before I make a judgement about it.
I've always liked Mr. Linday's work on the front end but stressed to change his tie bar design for the better.
Phil, some more pictures would be nice and some information for those wanting to know what metal you're using to make up all this.
It's good to see some people actually going old school and doing things that aren't in the aftermarket parts bin.

Brad, thanks for the text man.

josh- not safer than the stock steel? your kidding right? have you not jacked your car up on the front brace? it BENDS when you do. his piece is WAY stronger than that stock piece i can assure you.

some do!

^yup...I'm serious. To be "safer" meaning driver safety....no, no reasonable improvement over stock since an impact wont try to lift your car...rather it would try to crush it sideways. The stock steel would be just as effective, obviously saying this while the jury is still out on exactly what material and the thickness of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it can hold more weight that the stock parts but as far as 'safety', there's still not enough support in the front to matter IMHO. Beefing up the bottom will just mean the whole bottom frame segments will come apart in one piece and fold down in an accident instead of crumpling up and absorbing impact....so, without actual testing there's no real way to speculate either way. And my support doesn't bend by the way...I can take a pic if you like. I'm not sure why yours does.

I jack up on the stock piece with no bending all the time.

it doesnt much... but look at the spacing difference in the middle where the jack is compared to the bottom of the radiator or condenser. you should see the center bowed up. to me thats un-safe.

If this actually improves the front end suspension, I would definitely be interested to find out a price point to reproduce! I'm always open for innovative ideas to make our cars faster and handle better.
I'd imagine it does wonders as far as suspension response. That's honestly the biggest plus I see which should not be understated at all....it's a big one. +

Ok wow, Im glad that everyone likes this!
Well I dont actually have a price off hand except for the rods.
The rods would be around $45 ea.
Also the front is made out of 3/16 steel not aluminum. It houses my double core custom radiator.
I needed to go lower with the bracing and also help protect my radiator.
Once I get in on the road (3-4 weeks) I will get it up on a lift and get a complete shot.
I should also post my upper cross brace too then. I cut out the top radiator cross support, and replaced
it with a 2 x 3 piece of steel angle. Im just getting done fitting that up and drilling the holes in it!
Also If anyone needs anything custom made please let me know ..... I just got laid off and could use a couple extra bucks!
