If you're refering to a spring compressor, you can rent it or borrow free (with deposit) from most parts places.

just use a impact gun and you shouldnt have any problems , i never have
you do really want to use a spring compressor tool. i got a set from harbortool and freight for $14. i was told that if you take the nut off without compressing the spring it will shoot the mount off.
sorta, i never thought it was dangerous... its recomended but i didnt use a compressor for the last 3 corners... doing it once was more then anoying
