Question for you pre-00 fellas. Did you keep your stock air bags or what the hell did you do about them? I got a donor car, but the guy snagged the bags and the SDM module out of it.

I was planning on an after market steering wheel, but I'd like to have my passenger side one functional since NYS inspections are a pain in the ass to pass. I know i can get around the air bag light with the resistor. I have the entire wiring harness out of an 03 sedan going into my 99 sedan so that the whole car will be plug n play. I'm just missing that SDM module.

If you remove the drivers side one, the passengers side wont be functional.
I don't have an eco myself but I have helped with 4 or 5 eco swaps now.

as of right now, it doesn't seem possible without some sort of standalone engine management. I know shifted is working on a new ecu that could work in our cars, and also use the crank gear that runs the ignition (proper term has slipped my mind) That's the holdup right now though, getting the ignition system to work

Question: Is the bellhousing pattren for the Ecotec the same as the LN2 (OHV 2.2/2200)? I wonder because with all the bad rep the LN2's gotten on power alone I was considering such a swap for my S-truck. Anyone?
