What companies make a good lower control arm bushing for our cars? I tried to order some from our local performance shop today and they said that they can't get any.
I'm using Prothane polyurethane ones... ordered from Karo!
The guy told me that none of the top manufacturers make them. he even mention Prothane as one of his suppliers and said he couln't find any listed, only ones up to a 1994 Cavalier.
you in canada? go to Canadian tire, they can order them. and it's not that bad of a price either.
i aswell have prothane great stuff

What kinda price am I looking at? I'm debating buying from TTR but they'll be $80 to the door.
Turbo Tech Racing should have some for your ride, take a look at what they got.
Thanks, I just came from crappy tire, and they too said that prothane DOES NOT make a Lower Control Arm bushing for sunfire/cavalier. I'll send the part bumber along to the local shop and see what they have to say.

Anyone have a used up 96-97 2.2l engine near the UP? I need a crankshaft!
Mine went on my 97 cavy. I could not find top of the line stuff.
I ended up buying the ones they had at napa and paying an crap load to get them put in because nobody could get them installed in the arm.
If I do it to the passenger side, I am buying the whole arm thats assembled with new bushings and ball joint.. new

I used a bench vice and two pieces of wood to press in my Prothane bushings... very easy. I think the bench vice cost me $25 a bunch of years ago... compared to $175 that GM wants for a new control arm assembly, I think I'll take the vice any day.

i also did the vice thing, and.... very easy. if you buy the stock ones they have metal casings which are WAY more difficult to get in. harder than hell to get out too. and they suck compared to the urethane bushings. take skateboarding for example...companies have been making bushings out of urethane for years, since rubber sucks and deteriorates way sooner. ever tried skating with rubber bushings?
a little off topic, but it illustrates my point about the old bushings versus urethane. something to take into consideration i guess.
