Clunking noise when I turn
Saturday, May 10, 2008 4:21 PM
Hey guys, I have a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT. It makes multiple clunking noises when I turn the wheel in either direction, like into a parking space. I replaced both front struts, ball joints, and repacked the tie-rods thinking that would take care of it, alas, the noise is still there. And when I go over bumps, or push down on the front end of the car, it makes a squeaking/rubbing noise like styrofoam rubbing together. Please help, I've stuck a ton of work into this and it's starting to piss me off! Thanks, BASH

I replaced those a few months ago.

I was thinking either the bearings or the mounts. would have to hear the sound though.

try spraying some wd 40 on the sway bar bushings, the d bushings on the subframe use to squeek on mine.
