Throttle Body Spacer?
Tuesday, October 17, 2006 12:09 PM
I've done a lot of searching and most sites say a throttle body spacer increases HP and Torque between idle and 3000rpm. After that does it restrict airflow? Does it actually increase milage?

Doesnt do a damn thing.

Carb spacers give your intake more volume, which it will do on your car as well. But it also gives more room for the fuel to atomize before entering the cylinder. Since you have port fuel injection, the injectors just spray onto the back of the valves over a few thousand RPM, so it really wont do @!#$ for you.

the only thing a spacer is good for on a fuel injected car is to give some where to attach a nitrous line

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

Or for alky injection, which I plan on using it for. Otherwise, completely useless.

Back to throttle body spacers...

What is the best way to go about getting one?

Have a shop fab one up, or buy one new from somewhere?

Is there a decent company out there that sells them?

I know Air Raid makes one for the Eco's. You can get it at Summit Racing for about $110.

Thanks Patrick.

Matt Gorman...it's not a waste of money if you use it properly....Water injection maybe? Don't be so quick to judge.
