solenoid testing?
Friday, October 27, 2006 10:24 PM
my first issue has come up... I have the kit completely installed as per the instructions... I have all the wires correct, them grounded... etc. etc... I go to test everything after i get it all done... and I get nothing.. I dont know if its my wiring (not sure how cause I did everything exactly as they said to) or if my solenoids are bad... any way i could check these things..? I tried searching for solenoid problems but all i keep finding is general questions... nothing about testing if they are good or bad...

Each solenoid has two wires. Click one wire on the neg batt terminal or ground it out, and click the other wire on the positive batt terminal and listen for it to click. If both solenoids work get a 12v tester and check your relay and wire work. I've come to find most relays to be wired wrongly in the 5-6 nitrous installs I've done. Don't know why..........

alright, I'll try that. Thanks a lot man. If its the relay then I'm gonna be pissed, cause that means they put it in the book wrong.. lol.. Oh well, onto working on the car

YEA.... so I'm a dumbass... and I kick myself in the ass frequently... lol... I forgot to ground the fuel bypass valve wire from the relay... which apparently i overlooked while I was splicing wires.. haha.. oh well, its working great now. And I can't be any happier
