Does installing the TR6's change anything in my daily driving such as a loop in my idle or all motor performance such as lag at the start. or will i get less gas milage. just wondering. oh and do i really have to retard my timing 2 degrees? if i go to a 65 or 75 jet. thanks.

no, the colder plugs wont affect your normal driving performance or gas mileage. no you do not need to retard your timing for a 75 shot or less.
I thought the rule of thumb was 2 degrees for every 50 in spray.
i heard that too. but some people seem to be getting away without retard
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I'd be carefull. I took out a piston running 65 shot on premium.
1/8 9.32 @ 75.231mph
1/4 14.54 @ 93.46mph
How does retarding the timing affect every day use?

Well I have an eco and run autolite #103 and ngk tr6's and I spray a 75 shot, no problems many other people i know run the same setup and have had no problems at all. As far as any affect with the colder plugs no except once in awhile it takes a pinch longer to start thats it. But I also have 93 at all times cause i never know when I need to flick the switch..
the msd dis-2 has a step retard. you can wire it up so when youre spraying, the timing is retarded by however many degrees you like. then, once you stop spraying, it goes back to normal. this is easy to do, as the dis-2 has a wire which activates the retard when it gets 12 volts. just wire it up to your arming switch or your solenoid.
The MSD DIS2 does NOT have a triggerable timing retard.
It has a retard function that allows you to set the amount of retard (0 to 15 degrees by 1 degree increments) starting at a specific setable rpm (4k to 7.k rpm in 250 rpm increments). the feature is either on or off depending on the position of the setup switches.
The MSD DIS2 Programmable has 3 triggerable timing retards. Each one is triggered by a 12v. signal (like solenoid power) and allows you to set the amount of retard (0 to 25 degrees in .1 degree increments) at a specific start rpm (800 to 15k rpm in 100rpm increments). The 3rd input is also setable for a delayed return to normal timing and can keep the timing retarded for an additional .1 to 9.9 secs after the solenids turn off.

BTW, I honestly feel you do lose a couple horses with colder plugs in everyday driving, but that's just a theory as of now.

ok, the exhaust sounds louder and the car runs richer. plus it takes longer for the car to warm up. normal?
