Best alarm for my $$$

Looking for something with a 2-way remote and starter to be somewhat affordable atm i cant rly afford these $600+ alarms that the local shops charge, is there any sites i can pick up a viper or something for somewhat cheaper then what the shops r asking?

people shouldnt flame u for checking ebay, as long as you know what ur looking for ebay can be helpful, as far as if thats any good, im not an alarm expert so i dont know

DO NOT BUY one of the cheep ebay alarms you will regreat it. I would go with ANYTHING DEI(viper,python,etc) Clifford makes nice alarms. Um Code Alarm sucks so dont go with code. Audiovox makes some OK alarms.

hmmm ok still no answer to my post though =\ is there any reputable sites that sell full kits with 2-way/starters for reasonable prices preferably a DEI like seigel had mentioned?

Ok i just found a Viper 591xv (one with 2way autostart and all the other goodies) for about $220 just called a local shop they want about $225 for intallation this seems quite high to me for install...any input?

I think Audiovox makes Code Alarm, so they should be relatively the same I would imagine... could be wrong, though...

alarms is something i dont even bother doing, boring, time consuming, not the funnest work by far,

THIS IS THE ALARM I have, and I'm happy with it. You need to get a seprate module to bypass passlock to get the remote start to work.

I have installed few of these alarms before. they are not that bad, the new models of them are even better. they work well.

I have a Viper 791XV in mine,"best" there is by DEI. you get a lot of modules and extra sensors for it. Its well worth it but if you are doing the installation yourself i wouldnt suggest it.. start with something easier to install.

and the reason shops charge that much for alarms is because the higher end alarms are hard to install, for mine i put it inside my dash so its hard to get and temper with.
