Ok heres the deal. My fuel pump went out on Sunday and i put a new one in last night. It was getting dark outside so I put the tank up and straps and jumped in and turned the key. Car started right up no problems, I let the car run for 5 minutes or so while i put my tools back. This morning i went out side and put the heat shield and bolted the exhaust back up. Before i Took the car off the jack stands I went to start it one last time. When i turned the key it started for all of 1-2 seconds and it bogged out like i had no gas, but i put 7 gallons back in the tank that i had siphoned out.
I went to start the car again and it wouldn't and the fuel relay was going nuts making clicking noises. So I went and got a new one, same problem. But when i go to turn on the car the Theft System light comes on and the car wont start. on a side note My digital odometer says ERROR on it as well after i stop cranking the motor over.
I know that the BCM get a signal from the key and gets sent to the BCM and then to the PCM. I subscribe to all data and from what i was able to find out the BCM send a class2 message containing the password to the PCM. And if this password does not match the car wont start.
I also found Info on the ERROR message found on my odometer means that there is an internal IPC memory failure or there was a loss of class 2 communication. Now since the BCM controls trouble lights, the theft system, and is linked to the PCM with class2 communication this leads me to believe the BCM is bad based on the fact that the error message is coming up in the odometer and means there is a loss of class 2 communication.
Thanks for reading my book and any info is appreciated.
Jeff
p.s. please say i don't need a tech 2 scan tool I haven't the slightest idea where to get one other than the dealer .
Bumpity do da......anybody?
