well i got it all loose except for the window knob (whatever its called.. to roll window up/down)
how do I remove this without breaking it?

Window crank. You can either A - spend 5 bucks on the tool, or B - use a rag or a shirt, pull it in the side of the crank that has the handle on it, wiggle back and forth, and voila, comes off.

hmm actually im a little confused. do you mean behind the door panel? or just pull on the crank from the outside ?
As you hold the crank away from the door you'll see the small clip that holds the door crank on. get a small hook and use that to pop that ring off. You can also use a small screwdriver (do this very carefully or wrap w/ tape so it doesn't scratch your panels) and push the pin from the opposite side.

And for God's sake....if you are parked in grass...CATCH THAT CLIP! ....or you will never see it again unless it lands inside the car. You can simply press that clip on the window crank the way it was before in the two little slots when you get it all off the door. Remove that little spacer between the crank and the door panel with everything else and make sure to put it back. When you get ready to put the window crank on, make sure you have it in the position you want and slide it on after that spacer (IF YOU HAVE IT) Then once almost in place...you can carefully give the crank a solid but caring pop toward the door panel with the back of your fist to finish it.
