anybody ever done this and do you have pics??.i just got 4 polk 15's and need set-up & box ideas..everything will be glassed & painted..the back seat is already in the trash!!!
its been done with 6 15's there's pics of it on fiberglass forums and on here somewhere
in a flat wall or in a half box type setup.
you can do 4 15's in a ported wall or 5 in a sealed wall. in a half wall you might be able to but it will be sealed and your have to go into the trunk for the box
Gotta do a wall. Even sealed it would be too small to fit inside the trunk - I did 4 12's in the trunk however.
thanks guys..i don't really want a full wall but i think i'll need to go with that to get the drop that i want!!.i have a box in my truck thats 24 cu.ft. with 4 15's and that thing drops way low,the dash literally looks like a paint shaker and the windshield flex's about an inch it looks like, and it's funny when it drops that low cause you dont hear it you just feel it..i'll try to find the one with 6 15's on here & see what kind of torment he went through,lol..i need some posotioning ideas..thanks again guys!
Timmy is the guy with the 6 15s in a half wall. I think his sn is groundpounder2k2 here . he is well above average in the fiberglassing skills so unless you are really good with it i wouldnt even consider it an option . But he is an awesome guy as well so if you asked him for some tips im sure he would not hesitate.
i think i'll go for it..i'm looking towards cutting out the rear speaker deck (rear window deck) and building in from there..i'll have a lot more room that way..i think i want to make it flow through the trunk somehow..i've been self employed for 20 yrs this year in kustom paint ,body,& fabrication and this is one of my shop/project cars so i'm not at all frightened by any of the work, just need to vision what i want..i'll be glassin the whole interior also at the same time..i dont have pics on here yet but anyone wanting to see the car or my work can visit myspace.com/steveskustimizing or search myspace for "tha paint pimp"..thanks again guys, very helpful info!!----steve.
be careful taking out the rear deck. I had looked into it in the past to get more space and from what i could gather about it, it will take a lot of the structural integrity out of the unibody design. if you drive it more than to a show and back it may not be the best idea.
sorry,i tried to delete and reposted by accident.!
yeah,i'll definately have to reinforce anything i cut but hopefully i wont need to cut..i just have a vision of everything wrapping around where the back seat used to be but without a full wall..i dont even have a clue of how i want to shape and position everything,lol..i'll do some sketching tomorrow..thanks N8BALL.
