Hey,
I bought the Bestkits BHA2004T harness, i got it for 40$, its a T-harness with 2 relays, it doesn't need a speaker , it emites the chime noise like the stock deck from the left front speaker, and it has a switched 12V. I'm draw up a circuit diagram to show how this is can be done by yourself. Anyways I was wondering is there any other place in the 2000+ Cavalier where u can put the stock deck (not visible) instead of running that big wire over to the trunk?
glove box maybe? but that's gonna leave you with 20ft. of wiring to hide also.

ya i was thinking of the glove box too but i don't know if its gonna be too big for it, the wiring would just go somewhere behind the dash. I'm also gonna try to see what would happen if i didn't plug the stock radio in to see if the chime will work because the harness has relays on it. I'm thinking it won't but its worth a try.
BTW I was taking a look at the relay connections on the harness, its a very simple setup and out of 8 wire connections you can get a switched 12V and the stock chime. I'm gonna draw out the circuit like i said, tommorow and perhaps someone or me and can make up a cheaper alternative.
yea, but people have trouble fitting the regular harness wires in the dash, i have a t-harness and it's a LOT of wire to be hiding in a dash. the glove box would hold the deck i'm sure.
you could always chop the harness off and shorten it though.

I get what you are trying to say, i wasn't thinking of putting the harness in the back of the stock deck location but rather inside the actual dash perhaps behind the glove box??? I don't know i have to look into that.
How about under the passenger seat?

under the passenger seat there isnt a whole lot of room, plus, under the carpet is a airbag module and the floor vents for the rear passengers feet. so not enough room.
