sounds like a power thing... either needs bigger gauge wire to the amp, or a new battery or alt. it def. a power issue

If it was a power problem, I believe it would be the opposite. If the audio gets softer at higher rpms, then I'm inclined to speculate that you have a ground problem. Check all of your connections from the ground to the battery, and everything in between. Otherwise, you might think about having the amp looked at...

first, check YOUR wiring. make sure you used the proper guages, and a good solid CLEAN ground with no paint, and not too much length going to that ground.

then, if that fails, i would test the amp, and see if thats f'ed up.

if that passes, then its gotta be your batt/alt.

well i found a problem in my fuse. i still havent gotten around to changing to ANL fuses and my AGU fuse holder started to melt. i guess it wasnt designed to hold 100 amp fuses. anyways, sometimes it makes contact, sometimes it doesnt. so maybe thats affaecting it? its not just when i brake, it just gets louder and lower when it feels like, but normally happes when i brake. make when i brake it makes the wire touch a littlle more? not only that, but my RCA cables are giving me problems too. i'm gonna have to re wire all this crap.

If you're burning up fuse holders, you might have a more immedate problem. What gauge wire are you running, and how many watts are your amps rated for?

4g to the dual AGU fuse holder(100 amp and 80 amp). the 100 amp continues on 4g to a Rockford Fosgate 1000a2 and the 80 amp fuse continueson 8g to a Rockford Fosgate 400a4. the side with the 80 amp is fine, but the side with the 100 amp gets really hot(not the wire so much as the fuse holder itself) and the gold plating that touched the plastic starts to melt. the glass in the fuse even turned black once(but the fuse itself didnt break). lemme see if i can take some pics today, i lent my girlfriend my camera.

i dunno if this makes a difference, but here in domincan republic, my car gets ****ing hot. real hot. and since its black, even touching my car hurts. so while i'm driving around, my car is steeming hot itself. had i been back in long island, maybe the cold would keep the wires and fuses a little colder and i wouldnt have a problem?

BTW, i used to live like 20 minutes from you, AMERICONIUM(in central islip, right on the border of brentwood). my best friends dad owns a diner in amityville(forgot the name, but its under the traintracks, slightly next to it) and he himself lives in Deer Park. we both went to St. Anthony's if you've heard of it i havent been on the island in forever thoug cause most of my family lives in queens so everytime i go to visit, i stay there.

i'l going from july to august when my summer semester finishes.

any ideas? think the fuse or wiring is my problem?

Well, if the fuse doesn't make contact 100% of the time, then yeah, I would think that the fuse holder has something to do with it. Considering that it's loose, yeah. Unfortunatly, it's hard to troubleshoot from here, so all I can say is good luck with that.....

Replace the fuse holder, if that doesn't do it, get back to me.

his issue was from maxing out his fuse, now he's dealing with a toasted fuse holder, im thinking once you get a new proper sized one youlle be fine, but it wouldn't hurt to go thru your wires and make sure everything is connected good and securely and nothings moving around on you. and that no wires are in danger of becoming grounded by running on any sharp edges in the car.

when i get the fuse holder(this week, i promise. i paid off all debts), i'm gonna re-run all my wires. hopefully it'll help my ground issue.
