Securely installing CD changer into the glovebox?
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 7:21 PM
Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 6-pack CD Changer for my car and I will probably be installing it into my glovebox. The biggest concern I have with this is I want to ensure it's installed well enough that it isn't easily removable from the car. The unit itself came with self tapping screws but I would rather us a bolt/washer/washer/nut combo. The plastic combined with the self tapping screws won't hold at all if someone gives it a good tug. The biggest issue I have with this is that I have no clue how I would access the underside of the glovebox.

Any tips to help a guy out? Or any other suggestions on a good installation?

take the door off your glove box and see if you can figure out how to take it apart. Be sure that you don't just rip things apart, though. The best way to figure things out is to try them, just be careful.

the bottom of the glovebox is readily accessible. Just look up under the dash and its right there. just figure out where you want to bolt the changer and drill the holes from the bottom. Shouldnt be too hard, just get down there and look.
