well im looking to go turbo ..... and im thinking of using megasquirt 2 as my engine manigement system
any oppenions on this idea ......... looks to b the best way to me as i have a 93 2.2 (non tunable ecm) eather way i have to swap ecu and this gives me more choices


just wanted others vew on this

Well, I'm partial to the 1227749 turbo Sunbird ecm. That's what's in my '93. And it's easy to find spares. if you need one.

MS does have bunches of support though. Just make sure you can control timing as well as fuel.

You know, I've never heard before... what does MS have for diagnostics if a sensor fails? Can it set codes, or are you left to guess?

thats a good point about the diagnostics ...... never consederd that ....
megasquirt does do spark control now to .....

how much does the turbo bird ecu go for (cant find any ware im from)..... also can it use the same sensors as the 93 cavi or is it more than just repinning the ecu harness

I usually find those ecm's for about $20 - $30. $50 is about as much as I'd pay.

All sensors will match up except the MAP. You'll want to use a threaded IAT sensor in the intake though.

ECM part number is 1227749, also used in some N body cars with 2.3 in '89 as well as '87 - '90 Sunbird turbo and 92 Syclones and Typhoons.
