Im wondering if it matters what i use for bolts for bolting my turbo to the manifold. I can get my hands on some stainless allen head bolts but i dont know. Id like to find something that isnt going to rust in a few days...phil
Just get stainless or Grade 8 bolts.. My bolts came with the turbo, so I have no clue what they are lol. But they haven't rusted, just turned a chalky white from the heat.

mine is a threaded flange all the way through so i used studs, better IMO,
Mine is not threaded all the way through..i agree studs would be better but i cant find stainless ones.
Phil,
Lowes should have everything you need; I go through a local place that's HUGE for fasteners. Try and get a higher grade stainless, though--cheaper stainless (low qualify) will still eventually rust on you. And if you use stainless you
HAVE TO use anti-seize first!!!!
I would not use Allen bolts. just more of a pain to get them nice and tight (space). I also do not like studs. When they get messed yp (threads) harder to replace because they do not want to come out. Any hardware store and get you what you need. Get some grade 8 bolts, and lock washers.

Well im sticking with stainless regardless. I will have to try and find some stainless with a bolt head. Sadly up here in my small town we dont have a lowes.. I got my bolts at a local fastener store but ill look harder next time. reason i want stainless is one for looks and also cause mild steel bolts/studs will actually rust in the hole and then its broken stud time. The stainless reacts with the steel.
