Oil Cooler before Turbo?

Quick question for you boost guys.

Im going to be turbocharching my 2200 in the next few weeks, Im waiting on all the parts to be delivered to finalize the project.

Im wondering, since I have to run an oil feed line anyhow, would it be a good idea to throw a small oil cooler before the turbo? I figured Id ask because it seemed like a good idea to me, but I want to know if its worth it, and if itll cause more harm that good.

Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

I RAN AN OIL COOLER IN LINE WITH THE OIL FEED FOR MY TURBO. I SHOULDNT HURT, IT WILL HELP LOWER TO OIL TEMP GOING BACK INTO THE PAN. IM AUTOMATIC SO I ALSO RAN A TRANSMISSION COOLER. THESE WERE PUT BEHIND THE INTERCOOLER, SPACED ABOUT 1" OFF THE RADIATOR SO THEY WOULD STAY COOLER AND KEEP AIR FLOW.

most oil coolers have a thermostat built into the sandwich plate for the cooler.

such as this one.

it just makes sure your oil is not TO cool.

I HAVE MY OIL TEMP SENDER BETWEEN THE COOLER AND THE TURBO, IT GETS AROUND 140 ON SUMMER DAYS, RIGHT AROUND THE "PERFECT" 150

CAPS LOCK IS AN OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD FOR ME TOO, BUT I GOT ANOTHER JOB, SO I MIGHT NO BE ABLE TO POST AS OFTEN AS OF NEXT MONDAY.

Maybe Ill throw one of those on in the future, as I already have all the parts I need for my oil feed and return.

Thanks for the information guys, I was thrown there for a minute with the thermostat dealing with oil, but that makes sense.
