ugh... when will people learn that it does not matter if gm discontinues a part?

you can still find parts that are sitting on shelves all over the country. on this particular one though i could see it as being a hard find, however so were original stock LG0 valve springs and i got the job done there

A LOT of the time when gm discontinues a part and said part has been sitting for awhile that dealership will sell it at a substantial discount. ive gotten some damn nice deals doing this...

I must confess... I feel like a monster!

Now what I'm about to say is not meant to start a war between companies, but OEM was able to do there kit without the M45 idler. I realize the 2 kits are different, but they are not that different. Chargers sit in the same general area. Making the belt routing generally the same.

I just want to point out OEM is using a one off peice not the exact part they will be selling so I think it is too early to say for sure that theirs will not require this part.

Where I agree with your point that there production model is going to be different from the prototype in sopme ways (flow), the placement of the chargert shouls not and will still be in the same area, so still making the 2 similar in that one aspect. I do not see that part of there kit being different.

its probably different but you could look around on www.zzperformance.com at their tensioner pulley and see if they sell the pulley alone or whatever.. or someone could machine an adapter plate for it to get it to work..

Sorry it took me so long.

The belt routing is literally identical to the M45. Both superchargers sit in the same exact location.

Just sharing ideas...
When i had my M90 manifold mounted, I moved my alternator down to where the A/C is supposed to mount. Then i put the charger where the Alt is supposed to be. Doing this allowed me to achieve a very good belt wrap, and not have to use any additional idlers. Heres a pic. I cant find a shot specifically of the belt routing while the engine is out of the car, so this will have to do.

No I wish. The engine still has a bad oil leak and the dyno shop told me I was not allowed on until I fixed it. Also I did not pick up bigger injectors and finish the tuning.

I have reached the end of the road for this car. The partout has started. The decision was mainly for financial reasons. I love the car and this M62 setup. The car in its current state is the most fun it has ever been.

Here are a few last pics. *The air filter was not on in these pics only because I was cleaning it*

I seriously don't have any idea what you are talking about when you say a certain somebodys quad. My decision was all due to my own financial situation.

just a small update to anyone interested in this. tyler whichers bought the kit from wade and is using the stock air oil seperator and is bypassing needing to buy the idler pulley iand it works fine. you dont get as much pulley wrapped without the idler but it works just fine....

You need a certain amount of belt to be contacting the pulley surface to ensure traction. Belt may be slipping on the alternator and the supercharger without the idler adding more belt wrap angle.
