turbo gurus coolant feed question.
Tuesday, October 18, 2011 1:31 AM
I was pondering this tonight. Does coolant flow through the heater core lines all the time? Reason I ask is the guy I bought my turbo from said he was going to tap both heater core lines for the coolant. Will this work? I have his modified heater core lines with t fittings already. my friend seems to think it won't until the tstat opens. Thoughts?

Either one is fine, I have both my heater core lines tapped and there is no right or wrong feed or drain line for the coolant. I have one SS line coming from 1 heater hose to the turbo, and the other coming out of the turbo.

The coolant is just flowing through the turbo with no specific feed or drain way.

I think I have pics if interested

Yes that would help. So you have one line as a feed coming from one heater core and the return going to.the other heater core line? So it has coolant flow all the time then I assume?

Exactly, coolant just flows through all the time.

Here is the pic of mine.

Thanks, once you start on the AN fittings, make sure you use the paste and not the tape for the sealer. I made that mistake the first time lol.

The feed and return "nipples" on what? The firewall? The hoses? Your tee fittings on your hoses? The turbo itself?

I have a question, I bought the heater tee off Jason but I cant figure out which heater line I use to install tee. The one on the firewall close to driver side or passenger side??

The other tee is connected in front of the motor on big radiator hose.
