now i read the faq on whats needed for making a custom turbo kit, and i did a search on it but no such luck. at some later point in the future if i decide on to keep the car for a long while, otherwise i'd get a vw golf r32

. i looked in the classified section of this site and saw ppl selling they're custom turbos they put together, such as the 96-99 2.4s. my question is, with just the custom turbo kit and runnin no more than 7-8 psi and a possible intercooler, can i still run everything else in my car stock? such as fuel injectors, spark plugs, upgrade to higher fuel >87octane, and so forth(here's an example:

i guess the same with goin s/c if thats the case, not the roots-blower though. thanks for your experience.
Having a Z is close enough to having an import.....
if going boost...
wanting to run 8 psi lets say... you will need for the 2.4...
First and formost..... you need to figure out FOR SURE... if you want to intercool the set up if not you can't run more the 4 psi daily........ 8 psi will be no problem with a cooler......
Larger injectors....., Cartech adjustable FMU or something of that nature................., and 94 Octane.... Not 87.... Spark plugs....... yes definitely........
And stock internals will be fine as long as it is tuned up nice........
But make sure that if the motor is showing ANY signs of fatigue before you turbo it ...........
IT WILL BLOW UP when you boost it............................
and change your sig.... we are far from imports......

we have a little something called torque........................... oh and we don't look like an egg..... haha......
happy boostin.........

if you want a mildly larger injector, try picking up some 30# injectors out of the Cobra Mustang or Thunderbrd Turbocoupe. You will get them a lot cheaper than say buying them brand new from RC Engineering. Intercooling isn't really a must, but I'll put it to you like this. You make more boost, your IAT's go up too high, and you get really bad detonation. An intercooler makes a BIIIIIG difference. For example, we have a large Greddy FMIC on our project turbo honda sedan. After running around town chasing down mustangs one night last weekend, we pulled over to let it cool down because the turbo was... glowing red. The cold side (intercooler to throttle body) pipe was literally cool to the touch. You want that kind of cool dense air going into your throttle body, not super hot compressed air directly from the turbo.

hmm icic, thanks guyd for your experience and help, i'll surely bookmark this page for future reference. i have another question regarding the 2 links above. i know some ppl dont add the oil piping, but everything else included, is that all i need to add/buy as a custom turbo kit to put onto my car?(that an a few hours with some friends to do the work.)

oil piping? as in oil lines? you kinda... have to have oil lines to and from the turbo.
