save a little more money and go with the hahn kit - hands down the best out right now

I custom built my setup for about 2100, but ^^ this is definetely the truth. Right now, Hahn easily has the best kit for the $$.
Hahn does make a stage I kit for around that cost

I love my Hahn kit. Im running 15PSI with it on stock internals, clutch, and axles. No issues yet. Had the kit on all year and easily put 15-20k on it this year.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

I thought you could only safley run around 8 psi on a stock engine.

Not on an Ecotec!
well 2.4's should handle around 12-13 psi too, jeff filkins is at 13, but he has a smaller turbo

This is my absolute favorite misconception. It is such a myth that a stock engine can only hold low boost. If you do it right many engines can take 10PSI easily. There are exceptions, of course, but I bet any J motor could hold 8-10 EASILY if tuned right and with the right fuel.
Hell man. Don't feel bad about saying that either. GM couldn't believe I was running more than 8PSI on my stock MOTOR, TRANS, CLUTCH, and AXLES. They had to check the gaskets and seals for themselves to be sure. It's great when you can suprise a manufacture.

yes im interested too,
i know chevy has some issues with build quality, but when i think good about chevy its all about their powertrain. anyway.
how much is a hahn kit
and how much for it installed out the door?
just curious, its kinda out of my range right now, but good stuff to know...
the kit alone is 3500 and install will be around 500-1000 and to do it the safe way with a motor, clutch, & axels your looking at around 7000 to be in the 11's casue with the motor you can boost around 25 psi and make some serious numbers on the dyno.

Let me clear something up. It is advertised to run 6-8 psi because it is safe. If the manufacturers of the turbo kit do not say this, and some one who doesnt know what they are doing turns the boost up to 10 psi or more and their motor explodes, then the manufacturers can say we suggested only 6-8 psi and you do not listen. Another thing, Ryne's car may be an exception we do not know since it has only been done once. Also Ryne has gotten some very priveleged help from Bill Hahn, the engineer of the Hahn turbo kit. It always helps to have the engineer help out with a car. But yes, so far Ryne has run quite a few passes at 15 psi on his stock motor and driveline.

Hey Adam...give yourselves some credit too. You guys ran 20PSI on a lot of stock parts as well. IT is fun though to make people do a double take when you tell them just how stock you really are.

Hahn says 8 psi SAFELY on a stock engine so cover thier own ass if ppl up it 2 like 13 psi and not have right fuel and stuff to go with it... But the ecotec can handle it though.. if done right..
im getting a kit that is way better that the HAHN kit for a lower cost so all i have to say is soon i will have the fastest stock motor with boost cause i trust the company that is doing my turbo more that HAHNE

i cant say much more cause my care is the prototype car for the kit i will have the first ever kit from this company.

Go with what you want but you definetely just made yourself look like an idiot. I'm pretty sure no one on the top 5 list is afraid of your "fastest stock motor with boost" claim. I think ebay is having a sale on "Turbonators" ....why don't you pick one up?

so you know a buddy of Mine Matt Griffin has,, well had the stage 2 kit at 11 psi and put down 265 whp and 242tq.. it was totalled 2 days ago but was a BEAST

if its the first kit ever from this company how do you trust them? How do you know it will be the best kit out there? LOL @ being the fastest stock motor ecotec with boost.

"Growing old is mandatory. Growing up? Definitely optional."
Josh is still the king of pushing the ecotec to its limits nobody before or since other than GM has accomplished what he has, ppl as a whole are still taking baby steps with this motor

because it Chill Factory and i know the owner personally and my friend has a stage 2 kit for his neon from them and runs 12.2 and he also had the HAHN stage 2 kit and only ran a 14.3 so i trust that he knows what he is doing. thats why i hate hahn kits cause there over rated.
