HELP! Cant Get Gm S/C Belt On
Sunday, July 29, 2007 12:15 PM
Tried for about 2 hours to put on the belt with the kit. Even went out and bought a $70 belt tensioner tool but she just wont move enough to get the belt over the S/C. Am I missing something here? Can someone help out ASAP directions.

How do you get a wrench + socket on there. You can barely get anything in there, barely even your hand. Since you have to push towards the back of the car, the top motor mount is in the way. Please explain. We had a b*tch of a time getting that belt on. Even with a tensioner tool. If there is an easier way please let me know if I even have to remove it.

As far as I can remember. The wrench+socket was to wide and hitting the inner wheel well.

Snap-On tensioner tool or 15mm wrench, through the fender well. Soooooooooooooooo much easier.

the tensioner tool I rented didnt work worth a crap. Ill keep in mind through the fender well if I ever have to take it off again. Or ill pull the upper mount out to get more movement with the tensioner tool.

It took 3 people, a broom stick and lots of swearing.

Well if I ever have to take it off ill try the "slide it on the idler pulley last" and "a/c pulley last method.
