Check Engine Code
Thursday, December 14, 2006 2:34 PM
The other day my transmission (auto) started shifting really hard. Then the check engine light came on. Today I was going to autozone to get the code read and the light went off (it has been shifting fine as of late). Once I got the code read, it came back as P-1810 Transmission Control Module which apparently means "4wd Low Indicator Short Circuit to Battery" ?!?!! This doesn't make sense to me on a 2wd cav. I was wondering if anyone here had a similar experience or know what to do. Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

TFP = transmission fluid pressure I do believe.

If the TCM ( transmission control module) sets a fault it will enter fail safe mode.

Basically it boost line pressure in all gears, no matter the speed of the car.

If line pressure was to low, and it didnt have enough pressure to hold the clutchs locked it would constantly slip all the time.
Therefore it boost the pressure up.

As for your code, I will be able to maybe get some insight tomorrow at work, but to honest I have never seen that code before.
