looking for low cost performance?

I have a '03 cavalier ls sport auto.

I'm wanting to know if they make gears, or anything else for the tranny to improve time and speed.

And anything else I can do to the car to help performance with out breaking the bank!!

Any one know where I can find a tourque convertor and a throttle body spacer for a '03 cavi auto?

Here bro check this out
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=318797&t=318797

It should give you a lot of info on performance

And also do a search on the tb spacer you'll see what I'm talking about

As for the torque convertor I'm not sure bro

Hope that helps

one thing to rememver. no matter what pick 2 of the 3. cheap, fast, reliable. whatever one you dont pick is what you have left and what the quality will be. for example. cheap, fast, the car wont be reliable. fast realiable, car wont be cheap, reliable, cheap, car wont be fast. get it?

Thanks a lot. Im not looking to buy cheap parts but im looking to do what i can when i can, and that means starting at the bottom and working my way up. Im wanting to improve the intake and tranny first, then move my way in. Thanks again for the advise and that other link in jbody helps out a ton.

I think you might be confused with the differences between a manual and an autos set of gears. If you want to upgrade your automatic transmission you will have to replace the torque convertor, front pump assembly, valvebody assembly, disable the overdrive features, reprogram the TCM (If applicatable). It's a hell of a job even for a tech.

I know that in a rearwheel drive there are gears that you can upgrade in the axel, I was just checking if my front will drive had something simular. Or is it more of a direct drive system fromthe tranny?

with a transverse (sideways) engine/tranny, the diff is built into the transmission, which is why it's sometimes called a transaxle- the axle goes through the tranny (sorta...)
you can still upgrade the differential, but you have to open the whole tranny to do it.
